This has to be just about one of the best things I have ever read:
Wonder Wine.
...ok, all except that thing I read long ago when I found out that women will let you do that stuff to them...and they will love you for it. ~grin~

The fog shroud of hammer driven throbs cloud a morning of slow drizzle and the gently moving limbs of nearby trees suggest that somewhere there is a breeze.
Basically I am either hung-over...or maybe I am still drunk ~grin~ but the pizza has been ordered (so breakfast is taken care of) and my half-read copy of Glen Cook's "The Books of the South" is teasingly telling me to get of the computer and to lose myself in its pages...teasing me that the "sorting of shit" that I need to do can wait while I find imagery in the written word*.

Sometimes the vocal minority gets its way not because its arguments are valid or have merit but rather because they simply shout the loudest and the voice of what is "right" is drowned out by those who I think know in their hearts that if such prevails what they have been doing will be questioned. Or rather that while their actions might be legal they are still not a course of action that helps show them or those with the same interests in a light that most people would consider "right".
And I watch this happening on a rather popular local photography forum when is response to a media report of sleaze and underage models*** of suggestions that some photographers are taking advantage of young models and pushing them into promiscuous or sexual shoots the community rather than take an honest look at itself for the betterment of the whole, sticks its head in the sand while a vocal few shout down any who try to suggest that as a group something needs to be done. These vocal few offer nothing to the debate save the ripostes and parry's of other suggestions. they weigh in with haughty and even condescendingly toned replies that deflect from the issue as they "gang" up on those brave enough to make suggestions.
Someone once wrote that the only thing that has to happen for evil to prevail is for good people to say and do nothing...while agree with this, I think the only thing that really has to happen for evil to prevail is for people to lack the self criticism and the intrinsic looking self to realise that their course does not help but rather only hinders good.
* People who say women are the evil temptation** in this world are those who never really learnt to read ~grin~
** I think of women as more like a very pleasurable distraction...and one I love to spend lots of time with...well one woman in particular ~wink~
*** For the record, as far as I can tell their is no legal basis for the idea of underage models.

An interesting post by
Spike on Hong Kong's 23 Restaurants that warrant at least a 1 star or greater in the Michelin Food Guide.
I think made more interesting since a quick search found that food and restaurant proud Singapore has none.
I wonder why? Or rather why not?
I mean, there are some great places to eat in Singapore, and the island definitely tries to pride itself on being a great food and dining centre.mmm...a deeper search finds that Michelin does not bother to publish a Red-Book for Singapore...of that I have to wonder, why not?
