Have you ever noticed that when you are in the middle, or the beginning or even the end of a little "down time"*, the things you most need to hear from the only person able to say them, are the things furthest from their lips, usually because the 'down' time has just dragged along is mate called 'the fight", and terms of endearment, affirmation and even love do not spring easily on the heels of jealousy, insecurity, accusation and anger.
Have you ever noticed that the things we need to hear the most at certain times are oft to be the things that the person we need to hear them from least wants or even thinks to say.

hm, well you've been that vague that I can only just begin to speculate but maybe they're not saying what you need them to say because "the fight" shouldn't be followed by 'down time' and instead followed by compromise, communication, sorry and the best bit: the 'make up' ;)

M: Well the "down time" predated the "fight" as it often does...and in those insecure moments immediately following a fight there are things we all want to hear from someone, and they are always the things that are the hardest for them to say.
